Notes and Disclaimers - Comments Finder | Comment Export

  1. This tool extracts comments from Microsoft Word documents, supporting only DOCX file types.
  2. Results are displayed in a table, including information such as the Author of the comment and the comment text.
  3. Additional functionality is being added to include comment reference text, page numbers, and other useful information. All content is downloadable, and as always, your content is never stored on our system.

Using the file upload feature, upload your Word Document that contains comments

Extract comments from document
Click Extract Comments

Once you've uploaded your document that contains comments, click the "Extract" button.

Note: Depending on the size of the file, and the number of comments, this may take a moment to process the results.

Comment Table
View Change Table Overview

Once the tool has finished extracting all the comments, it generates a table that provides an overview.

If there are no comments in the document, the table will state no comments

Download
Download Extracted Comments

In addition to the overview table, you can download an excel file that contains all comments.

  • The spreadsheet is organized by:
    • Comment number
    • Section page number
    • Author of the comment
    • Reference text of comment
    • Comment text

Note: The output file is not formatted, so any column or row sizing may need to be done by the user.
