Wrap-up

This high-level guide is by no means comprehensive, there are so many features in LinkedIn to enable networking and to build your professional presence and brand, but if you take these five steps as a base-line, it's a good place to start.

If you are just getting started, I definitely recommend investing in a premium account, there's a lot of features in there that you'll find useful. I know when I do competitive research, I really don't want the people I'm doing a deep dive on to know I'm looking at them - and with LinkedIn premium, you have control over that (just one example).

If you want to learn more about the research capabilities of LinkedIn, and some tips and tricks to get what you want, there will be an article coming out soon that goes into detail on these areas, so stay tuned!
